The Boston Bruins have finally announced their mammoth 82-game schedule for the upcoming regular season. And already, many are rushing to highlight which games they feel will be the ones to watch. Thankfully, we’ve done that for you, with some of the top clashes listed below.
The fixture that everyone of a Bruins persuasion will race to look for immediately is the season opener. And, what a clash there is in store, with the Bruins hitting the road and travelling to Washington. The start of a new campaign is always a fantastic occasion, and it’s one that these two teams have shared in two of the last five opening days. In 2018, the Bruins were on the receiving end of a 7-0 reverse, so they'll be hoping to fare better this time around.
We mentioned above how the Bruins lost to the Washington Capitals back in 2018, so they’ll have a point to prove. And you could say the same again here when the Carolina Hurricanes are in town, but because this is a more recent thing, sparks will fly. You only have to go back a short time to see that the Hurricanes eliminated the Bruins in the playoff series, so revenge will undoubtedly be on the menu. And you wouldn’t back against this being a spicy affair.
We’ve tried to pick out fixtures from the Bruins schedule where the games have something on them. And, when the Las Vegas Golden Knights travel to Boston, they will be doing so with former Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy, who enjoyed a six-season stint with the tea. But now, he will be on the opposing bench, and the Bruins will be set on getting one over on their former leader. The game could also add extra spice ahead of the second meeting between the pair, which happens less than a week later.
We’re not sure you will see as many sparks fly where the Bruins and their schedule are concerned as when they take on the Montreal Canadiens. This is two fierce archrivals going head to head. And believe us, this is a big deal. What’s arguably going to make this an even better contest is that the tension is going to build for around four months before the two sides meet. And when they do, everyone can expect fireworks. The pair will also meet on the final day of the regular season, with the Canadiens travelling to Boston.
Of course, as the season progresses, some fixtures will become massive. However, with the schedule recently released, these are the games that everyone should be marking off and readying to check out. They’ve all got the capability of turning into spicy affairs all round, which adds to the fun and suspense.
